“ I love this restaurant, the atmosphere is very welcoming and so is the staff. The food is also very delicious and I always go to try new types of sushi. Amazing teriyaki chicken!! ”
“ The good Stuff: 1. This restaurant been around for a long time. 2. Consistent, service friendly from staff. They always give me extra ! extra wasabi, extra dessert, extra soup. 3. The food is consistently good, the ingredients they put into it - its consistent. which I like. yes, some restaurant are not consistent. 4. Walking distance to where I live. Not so good: 1.The older lady - wont mentioned her name. every time I order my food via phone, she's always sound so downer. Like, I'm bothering her. its STILL a business at the end of the day. I will be back to this restaurant and will continue to patronize them. The other two in the area, not soo much. ”
“ I usually go to a spot around the corner but on this day it was closed so a couple of friends and I decided to come to Tsuru. We were so glad to come here! The service was fast, the food was good and the fish was SO FRESH! I think I might I might have a new sushi spot and is definitely recommend! ”
“ Called to make reservations for a party of 10, when we arrived (about 20ish minutes early) the tables were all set up and they immediately walked us over. Service was super fast and they were very attentive to us. I had my 10 month baby with us and they offered her miso soup- which she loved! Guests all had a great time! ”
“ Tsuru Sushi is a San Leandro staple and has been here since I've first moved to this city back in 1997. They have a variety of items and specials and the prices are reasonable given inflation. My favorite seat in the house is at the chef's table where you get to see them whip out the delicious rolls in front of you. Norman and Stanley are so sweet and they are such a joy to be around every time we dine at Tsuru. Whatever you order, you'll always get a cup of hot tea and juicy orange slices as you pay. My personal favorites are the aburi (smoked) samon that comes in 2 and worth every penny, and the Badass roll. ”
“ Recently whilst in the Bay Area, I was in need of some comfort food and at first I was going to drive to North Oakland to a Japanese restaurant that I frequented years ago then I came across Tsuru, in San Leandro, CA, which was much closer to where I was lodging. For me, the atmosphere was very tranquil and therapeutic which was perfect for my lite afternoon snack. I was able to peacefully enjoy my iso soup before my Bento Box arrived which consisted of Salmon Teriyaki, Tempura & 3 Piece California Roll and salad and of course, a large Kirin Ichiban beer for digestive purposes. As I was about to leave, I received a call from my cousin to bring home some East 14th rolls, prawn tempura, tobiko, avocado & spicy sauce. Tobiko was new to me which is a type of caviar made from flying fish eggs. Well, I do declare that I thoroughly enjoyed my culinary experience at Tsuru and will definitely be back in the near future to try some of the delectable delights that I eyeballed on the menu ”
